about

Travis McKeveny grew up in an decidedly musical household in Blue
Point, Long Island with a father who was a professional
guitarist/singer-songwriter. The sounds of artists such as Van
Morrison, Jackson Browne, and John Gorka were omnipresent. He had
always toyed with the idea of tunesmithing, and began to do so in
earnest roughly two and a half years ago.

His literate and carefully wrought songs “balance storytelling with
poetry,” in the words of vaunted upstate New York folksinger Fred
Gillen, Jr., placing him “in the tradition of the great ballad
singers.” He has opened for such nationally touring acts as Bobby
Bare, Jr.; Todd Sheaffer, of Railroad Earth Fame; and Chuck Prophet,
formerly of Green on Red.
